[API-Suggestion] Metadata provider

I would be tickled (and I tried search to see if I would already be) if we could get a standard metadata provider for for query endpoints, that way we could start versioning the api (other than by the url) and use nifty javascript libraries that are perfect for api’s like this such as breeze.js.
On the subject of breeze, has anyone written JsonResultsAdapter for the objects returned by each/any of the rest endpoints?
